About

I make no promises to be as witty, analytical, or thought provoking as other baseball sites, but I do promise to chronicle Phillies baseball as it filters through my own eyes. I'm not in it to strike it rich, retire on an island, and never be heard from again. I haven't made a dime off these words. I'm just an average-joe baseball fan who has way too many opinions to be kept quiet... You know, like most baseball fans.

I hold a 17 game Phillies season ticket plan (Section 145, if you want to stop by and buy me a beer!), I've traveled to 14 different major league ballparks, I've been to the Hall of Fame three times, I've been doing fantasy baseball since 1995, I play on three softball teams, and I've collected more baseball memorabilia/merchandise than I could possibly know what to do with.

I've been called a lot of things in my life, but the one thing you will never hear me call myself is an expert. No, in my opinion, "experts" have no place in blogging. I plan to share with you an incredibly amateur opinion on baseball as often as I see fit: Sometimes daily, sometimes monthly. And I fully expect you to disagree. Here are three statements I've been known to turn into pub-arguments every few months...
  1. Barry Bonds is the greatest baseball player to ever play the game.
  2. Frank Thomas was the best all around hitter of the 90s.
  3. Steroids are no more of an advantage than the hundreds of other advancements in the game: Maple bats, batting gloves, specialized mitts, synthetic fields, retractable roofs, etc.
I plan on giving post game reports where I inevitably blame Charlie Manuel for everything that is wrong with the world, sharing links that I find around the internet, providing fantasy baseball advice from a guy who habitually over-thinks every move, and hopefully getting feedback from other average joe baseball fans like myself!

Thanks for checking out my site and I hope you enjoy!
